Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of tota-tota ("we", "us") and every order you place with us. By using the site or placing an order you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service. Last updated: September 2026.

1. Who may use the service

  • You must be 18 or older to create an account or place an order.
  • You may only upload a child's photo and details if you are that child's parent or legal guardian, or have their explicit permission.
  • You are responsible for keeping your account password safe and for everything done through your account.

2. What we sell

Personalized children's storybooks, made to order in two forms:

  • a digital edition delivered as a PDF; and
  • a printed edition delivered by courier inside Egypt.

The stories and illustrations are produced using AI image and text technology guided by our own artwork, story templates, and human review. The illustrated character is inspired by the photo you upload; it is an artistic interpretation in the book's style and is not intended to be a photographic likeness.

3. Placing an order

  • An order is a request to buy. The contract is formed when we confirm the order by email; until then we may decline or cancel any order, for example if the item cannot be produced, if the details are unlawful, or if a price was displayed incorrectly.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter: the child's name and its spelling, age, gender, the photo, any dedication text, and the delivery address and phone number.

4. Preview and approval

Before printing we send you a preview of the complete book. Approving the preview is your confirmation that the content is correct. After approval the book is sent to print, the order cannot be cancelled, and a reprint of an error that was visible in the approved preview is not free. See Returns & Refunds.

5. Prices and payment

  • All prices are displayed in Egyptian Pounds (EGP) and include any taxes due.
  • Payment is made online by card or electronic wallet through our payment provider. We do not offer cash on delivery, and we never see or store your full card number.
  • Shipping is charged separately, in Egyptian Pounds, and the amount depends on your delivery address. It is calculated and shown at checkout before you pay — see Shipping & Delivery.
  • Your order moves to production only after payment is confirmed. We may correct an obvious pricing error before production and will contact you if that changes what you owe.
  • Discount codes are subject to their own conditions, cannot be exchanged for cash, and may be withdrawn at any time before use.

6. Delivery

We deliver inside Egypt only. The digital edition is available worldwide. Production takes around 24–48 hours and delivery inside Egypt typically takes 5–7 business days after your approval. These are estimates, not guarantees: courier delays and holidays can extend them, and we will tell you if your order is affected.

7. Cancellation, returns and refunds

Because every book is personalized it cannot be resold, so returns are limited. Full details — cancellation windows, printing defects, our mistakes, refund timings — are in Returns & Refunds, which forms part of these terms.

8. The content you upload

  • You keep ownership of the photos and text you upload.
  • You grant us a limited licence to store and process that material solely to create, print, and deliver your book and to provide customer support. We do not use it for advertising or sell it to anyone.
  • You confirm that you hold the rights to the material you upload and that it does not infringe anyone's rights.
  • We may refuse or remove any upload that is unlawful, offensive, contains nudity or violence, shows a child you have no right to submit, or belongs to someone else.

9. Intellectual property

  • The story templates, artwork, illustration styles, page layouts, site design, and the tota-tota name and logo are ours and remain ours.
  • The personalized book you buy is licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use: read it, gift it, photograph it, share pictures of it.
  • You may not resell the book or the PDF, reproduce it for commercial distribution, republish the illustrations as your own, or strip our attribution.

10. Acceptable use

Do not attempt to break, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the site; do not scrape it; do not use it to submit unlawful content; do not use someone else's payment method. We may suspend an account that does.

11. Availability and changes

We try to keep the site available at all times but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. Titles, prices, and features may change; a change never affects an order we have already confirmed.

12. Liability

We are responsible for delivering the book you ordered, and for putting it right if we do not — by reprint or refund as set out in Returns & Refunds. Beyond that, and to the extent allowed by Egyptian law, our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the version published on this page at the time of your order is the one that applies to it. The date at the top shows when the page was last changed.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the Egyptian courts have jurisdiction over any dispute. Your rights under the Egyptian Consumer Protection Law are not affected.
